It Started With A Search

Black Doulas UK CIC was born from a deeply personal moment. When my sister Sarah was pregnant, she searched for a doula who would truly understand her journey - someone who could advocate for her, support her, and make her feel seen. That search wasn’t easy. And that’s when I knew something needed to change.

As a mother of two, I understand the weight of that experience. The worries, the questions, the moments where you just need someone in your corner who gets it.

Black Doulas UK CIC was founded to make sure no one has to search alone. We exist to connect people with trusted Black doulas across the UK who bring not just expertise, but lived understanding.​

Our Mission

To improve Black maternal health outcomes across the UK by connecting families with trusted Black doulas, increasing the visibility of Black birth workers, and working towards a future where every family, regardless of income, can access the birth support they deserve.​

Our Vision

A UK where Black mothers, birthing people, and families have access to compassionate, culturally aware support, and where Black doulas are celebrated, visible, and thriving. A future where no family is priced out of the birth support they need.​
