Matilda Brown

Hi, I’m Matilda, a birth, postnatal and night doula supporting families across Surrey and London.

At the heart of my work is “mothering the mother.” Growing up with Zimbabwean roots, I was surrounded by a culture where women are deeply held, nurtured and cared for after birth, and that has shaped everything about how I support my clients. I want you to feel truly looked after during this transformative time.

My role is to walk alongside you with calm, consistent and non judgemental support, so you can feel informed, reassured and able to trust yourself. More than anything, I want every client I support to feel empowered, supported and in control every step of the way, whatever your journey looks like.

My passion for this work is deeply personal. After a challenging first birth, I went on to have a deeply empowering second birth where I felt informed, confident and in control. It truly felt like my dream birth. Experiencing both sides shaped how I now show up for others, creating a space where you feel safe, respected and confident in your choices.

I can support with antenatal preparation, birth, postnatal and overnight care, including gentle and practical breastfeeding support, and I weave in elements of hypnobirthing and biomechanics to help you understand your body and your options.

Whether you’re preparing for birth or adjusting to life with your baby, I’m here to support you practically and emotionally every step of the way.
