Hi, I’m Lakisha a doula, mother of three, and the heart behind Empowered Arrival.

My journey into birth work was shaped by lived experience, including times when I felt unheard and unsupported within maternity care. Those experiences ignited a deep commitment in me: to ensure that no one I support feels unseen, dismissed, or alone in their journey.

My approach is centred on holding space that is calm, compassionate, and rooted in respect. I believe your voice matters, your choices matter, and your birth experience deserves to be honoured. I offer personalised, culturally aware support that meets you where you are without judgement, pressure, or assumption.

Whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, or exploring your options, I walk alongside you as a steady presence, an advocate when needed, and a guide as you navigate your journey. My role is to support you in feeling informed, confident, and deeply connected to your own instincts.
